About Jenny Schwartz

With a professional career spanning over 30 years, Jenny has worked in areas as diverse as municipal finance, government, asset management, equine non-profit development, and equestrian sports.  She provides business consulting services as well as financial literacy training in niche markets, including work with non-profit organizations. Her roles in finance and marketing have led her to develop technical expertise in financial analysis, budget and capital planning, strategic new business development, debt and capital structures, and merchant payment solutions. Jenny has held senior leadership roles in government and currently serves as a member of the Town of Darien’s RTM Finance and Budget Committee since 2019, where she actively participates in the $160mm budget approval process. In recognition of her civic duty and community service, she received the Women of Distinction Award from the YWCA of Darien and Norwalk in 2014. 

Jenny believes that financial literacy and education is the cornerstone to closing the wealth gap and empowering people to live their best lives. Jenny received her M.B.A. in Ethics and Compliance from the University of Connecticut in 2019 and her B.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California in 1989.

About Jennifer Proga

Jennifer currently works as a consultant to the United Way of Western Connecticut as their Statewide Financial Stability Coordinator, promoting fintech products designed to improve financial stability to Connecticut’s ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) population.  Prior to working at the United Way, she had an extensive career in finance and investments, most recently working at a brokerage firm managing a business that advises endowments, foundations, and other organizations on their investments.  She has also directly provided investment advice to institutions as an institutional consultant and was a stock analyst and portfolio manager for 14 years prior to that work. Jennifer is a member of Impact Fairfield County and Social Venture Partners, for which she also volunteers.  She has also been a financial literacy trainer for middle and high school students for the High Water Women Foundation (2013-2014 and 2020-2022), an organization whose core programs were focused on providing financial literacy training and supporting women and their children.  Jennifer believes that everyone should experience financial empowerment, and that financial literacy is the key.  Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English from the University of Pennsylvania and has completed coursework on nonprofit organization structures and management at the University of Connecticut.   She is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute of New York and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIAÒ).  She is also Series 7, 63 and 66 registered.
